In cities with a Chinatown, weekend mornings bring dim sum carts or order sheets, and lines form early at the most popular spots in Fremont; walk-ins are standard and reservations are uncommon outside large banquet restaurants. Regional labels matter: Cantonese, Sichuan, Hunan, Shanghainese and Taiwanese kitchens cook very differently, so a restaurant's stated region is a better guide to the food than the word "Chinese" alone. Some smaller restaurants in California are BYOB with no corkage fee; call ahead to confirm. A tip of 15-20% is customary for table service but not expected at counter-order takeout. Spice level, MSG and allergen questions are normal to ask before ordering, and most kitchens are happy to leave an ingredient out or tone down the heat if you mention it when ordering rather than after the food arrives.

Hours are published for 7 days a week. Typical hours are 11:30 am–2 am. Fremont is in California, on the West Coast, where the climate ranges from foggy coast to hot inland valleys, wildfire season can affect air quality in late summer, and traffic is the main thing to plan around. Getting around Fremont is easiest by car; street parking is metered in busy downtown areas, and most suburban businesses have their own lot. Ride-share apps such as Uber and Lyft operate across California's larger cities, and public transit varies from extensive to minimal.

Four-season beans are not cooked. Tofu roll minus coriander signature is unhygienic The cold noodles in this restaurant are good. The waiter's attitude is not good at all. It's too bad.

Today was my first time here and let me tell you it was truly delicious! Authentic food packed with flavor! Very fun atmosphere. We got the spicy braised pork soup with noodles, Pan fried pork buns, green beans, and Cucumbers. I cannot pick which I liked best because they were all incredibly delicious!! Definitely will be back at night time to see this place in its fullest but even at lunch it was an awesome experience!

We had a really lovely dining experience at Special Noodle in Fremont. The food was fresh, flavorful, and served piping hot, which we really appreciated. We ordered the Kung Pao chicken mixed noodles and the eggplant string bean mixed noodles, and both dishes were delicious and well-balanced. Our kid absolutely loved the noodles, which made the experience even more enjoyable for us! We also really enjoyed the fried tofu and the onion pancake—both were excellent. We were expecting a bit more spice, but the dishes (including the chili oil) were milder than anticipated. That said, the overall flavors were still very good and satisfying. The service truly stood out. The staff member who helped us (I believe his name was Don) was very attentive and friendly. He even offered chocolate and sesame balls to our child while we were waiting, which was such a thoughtful gesture. Overall, great food, warm service, and a pleasant atmosphere. We’ll definitely be coming back!

We went here for lunch and it was delicious!! We got the Mongolian beef, salt and pepper chicken and pan fried pork buns and they are all so flavorful! Our server was kind and very helpful. It was our first time here! Also there’s a cool fish tank right next to our table and I enjoyed that 🥰

A friend highly recommended their Pork Intestine Noodle Soup, so I finally gave it a try — and wow, the portion was huge and the broth was incredibly rich and flavorful! I just wish I could adjust the spice level since I was craving something spicy that day. We also ordered Twice Cooked Pork on the side, and it was absolutely delicious — savory, perfectly seasoned, and definitely a “rice stealer.” The restaurant has a cool, trendy vibe that made me feel like I was somewhere in China. Ordering by phone was super convenient, and the menu was so extensive that I’d love to come back with friends to try more dishes next time.
